the SOMA Story
There’s a gap between injury recovery and performance training.
Soma Lab was born from seeing the same problem again and again: people getting injured during everyday movement—running, lifting, training, playing sport, or simply living their lives.
Often, people are given a solution for their pain, but not always a complete pathway back to the demands of their life or sport.
And when they're ready to start training again, they may still need guidance. Feeling better doesn't always mean the body is ready for unrestricted training.
That's the gap Soma Lab was built to bridge.
We combine rehabilitation and progressive training to help people move from pain and injury toward strength, capacity, and confidence—so they can return to the things they love.
SOMA is derived from the ancient Greek word (sôma), meaning the living body.
Combined with LAB, it represents a space where science, movement, and innovation come together to optimize health, recovery, and performance.

our SOMA SYSTEM
PAIN RELIEF IS JUST THE BEGINNING
We don't just help you recover from pain. We help you become ready for what comes next.
Pain relief is a milestone—not the finish line.
Your body needs to be prepared for the demands you want to place on it, whether that's running, lifting, playing a sport, or simply moving through everyday life.
That's why our approach looks beyond the painful area. We consider the body as a whole—strength, joints, muscles, connective tissue, movement, the nervous system, and the habits that influence how you move and recover.
A SYSTEM BUILT AROUND PROGRESS
Our approach follows structured phases, with clear goals to achieve before progressing to the next stage.
Recover → Rebuild → Return
Each phase builds on the last, progressively increasing your body's capacity and preparing you for the demands ahead.
The goal is not just to feel better. It's to become ready and resilience.
meet the founder
My name is LUIS Nieves
My journey in helping people began when I was 14 years old with the Red Cross, where I started as a hospital assistant. Since then, I’ve continued learning from different sides of health, rehabilitation, and performance.
At 16, I worked as a surgical assistant. At 18, I moved to Canada and began coaching soccer. By 21, I was working as a physiotherapy assistant, and at 22, I became a personal trainer. I later pursued kinesiology, bringing these experiences together to better understand how the body recovers, adapts, and performs.
Over the past 15+ years, these experiences have shaped how I approach rehabilitation and training today: not as separate pieces, but as parts of the same journey.
My goal is simple: to help create a world of healthier, stronger, and thriving individuals who feel capable of doing the things they love.

FROM PAIN to power
Life doesn't always go according to plan.
Injury, pain, setbacks, and challenges are part of being human. We believe they don't have to be the end of the story
.
From Pain to Power is our philosophy: turning adversity into an opportunity to learn, adapt, rebuild, and become stronger.
At Soma Lab, we don't just ask, “How do we get you out of pain?”
We ask, “What can we build from here?”
Because recovery isn't about returning to who you were.
It's about becoming more capable for what comes next.
Recover → Rebuild → Return.
